How to Clean a Grill – A Perfect Cleaning Guide of 2021

One activity that people love is barbequing, especially in the summer. And why not? Friends and family spent some quality time together in their backyard, garden, or in the park to make exciting and belly-filling memories. Although the whole activity is fun, but there is a hitch, cleaning all that grease and grime from your grill.

Grilling on a dirty grill is nasty, and it’s a severe health hazard as well. Besides, using a dirty or greasy grill gives your food an unpleasant taste, and to make things, even more worse, it can ruin your grilling experience.

So, cleaning the grill before and after the grilling is vital as it helps prevent food residues from attaching and keeps waste grit from sticking to your meals. Therefore you must clean your BBQ grills at the start of the season. And if you are thinking about how to clean a grill, no worries. Below we have mentioned some of the best ways to clean your BBQ grills in no time.

3 Ways to Clean a Grill

Let’s start with some of the practical and best ways to clean your grills:

Clean a grill with Vinegar

Here comes one of our favorite ingredients, the Vinegar, especially white vinegar. This common household thing can do wonders for your grill. Follow these steps to see the magical shine on your grills:

  • Mix two to three cups of plain water with two cups of white vinegar and pour that mixture into a spray bottle. Then, shake it will.
  • Now, spray this mixture on your grills and on all the greasy and affected parts of the grills.
  • After doing so, let it sit for at least ten to fifteen minutes.
  • Now, empty the mixture into a container and refill the spray bottle only with white vinegar.
  • Then, spray the mixture on aluminum foil and give your grill one last scrub. And you’re done!

This method works on both the exterior and interior of your grills. But we will not advise you to spray the mixture directly on your grill; instead, pour it on a cloth and then use it on your grills.

Quick-Clean a Grill by using Onion

When cleaning the grills, most techniques start in the same way that is; burn the grill. This will loosen all the debris and caked-on items on the grills; hence it will make it easier to scrub off. Once the grill is burning hot, take a steel grill brush and gently scrub the surface and if you don’t want to use hard bristles, use an onion instead.

First, cut the onion into two pieces. Then take a grill fork and gently rub the cut side of the onion on the grill. It will remove all the caked-on scum.

But there is a downside of using this cleaning method. You might feel some onion flavor on your grills. So, wash them properly before using them.
